What people think about Clinical Services Northwest…

Jackie was my clinical supervisor for three years while I provided mental health support for children at a high level of care in a therapeutic school. Jackie’s presence is grounding and allows space for self reflection.

Her approach is proactive rather than directive, providing opportunities for problem solving with clinical growth in mind.

Jackie is able to bring moments of levity when they are needed most, while providing a space to express thoughts, feelings and needs as a supervisee. Her support was essential in navigating a unique clinical setting and my own growth as a clinician, and I recommend her as a supervisor for anyone on their own clinical journey.

As a brand new student clinician, I was lucky enough to be placed under Jackie’s supervision. Jackie taught me about client care and advocacy, good clinical skills around assessment and documentation, and the importance of caring for myself as well. I learned the value of consistent and insightful supervision, and how supportive supervision is a powerful tool to access in my own practice.

A few years later, when I found myself needing support and a new supervisor as I navigated several challenges in my clinical work, I reached out and Jackie was a lifeline. I worked with Jackie in private supervision, and that investment in my self and my career have paid off in many ways. As I supervise interns now, I find myself relying on the insights and wisdom that I gained under Jackie’s supervision. Her work is invaluable.

Jackie supervised me for my license when I was directly out of graduate school. I would not be the same clinician I am today, if it hadn’t been for her as my clinical supervisor. She is kind, funny, smart and has an immense amount of experience with kids and families to draw upon when consulting and reflecting.

Jackie is the most effective social work supervisor I’ve had to date. I learned from her to always honor the humanity in others when dynamics get challenging, and it has served me well for my entire career. She is just great!

Jackie is a supportive and wise supervisor. Her supervision is rooted in strong clinical knowledge and experience. She is a master at navigating dilemmas by asking questions that gently guide towards resolution. Jackie is a committed social worker who is passionate about justice issues. I couldn’t have asked for a better supervisor! I felt supported as I worked toward my licensure and gained confidence going into my exam.

I’ve known Jackie for several years through a partnership between our organizations – Jackie was our trusted field instructor for our nonprofit, and she supervised our social work interns for several years. Our interns felt supported and benefited from her supervision. I share this sentiment because she became my social work field instructor when I completed my generalist internship.

I appreciate Jackie as she has always supported my growth in my social work career. She has extensive knowledge of the social work field. Through our conversations, I felt stimulated and challenged, and she helped me practice self-reflexivity and engage in critical thinking during supervision. I am very thankful to Jackie and consider her supervision and guidance important in my growth!

I began my clinical supervision journey with Jackie right after graduating from school. Fortunately, I’ve continued this valuable relationship with her for the past 13 years. Working with Jackie has enriched my career as a social worker and personal life as well. She consistently adopts a warm and strength-based approach, making her easily approachable and trustworthy. Jackie truly embodies the essence of a social worker and clinical supervisor.

In our supervision sessions and impromptu consults, Jackie has always devoted time to listen and understand my experiences, challenges, or issues with empathy and support. She created a safe and nurturing environment that encouraged me to openly share and discuss concerns, challenges, or any lack of understanding or confidence I may have had. Jackie also made it a point to acknowledge and celebrate my successes, fostering a positive atmosphere.

Jackie’s extensive experience, excellent communication skills, and balanced approach to feedback, coupled with her commitment to ongoing learning, make her an exceptional and inspiring clinician and clinical supervisor. One aspect I particularly appreciate is the autonomy and independence she allowed me while upholding her responsibilities as my clinical supervisor. This balance has been crucial in my growth and development, ultimately leading to my licensure as a clinical social worker and ongoing work in the field.
