I am a seasoned clinical social worker in Portland Oregon, with over 30 years’ experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families. I received my BS in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and obtained my MSW from Catholic University, National School of Social Service in Washington, DC. I have an LCSW from the State of Oregon. For the past 25 years I have been providing clinical supervision to students as well as professionals in the field of social work, counseling, behavioral health, marriage, and family therapy in a variety of modalities.
My approach to supervision involves a collaborative interpersonal process. I believe that clinical supervision is a powerful opportunity to enhance growth and increases skills while building a trusting relationship between the supervisor and supervisee. I am honored to contribute to the integrity of the social work profession by providing Clinical Supervision.
As a practitioner, my early leanings were influenced by psychodynamic theory. However, my current modalities also include, systems theory, trauma informed practices, mindfulness CBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
Throughout my tenure as a supervisor, I have been a field instructor for Portland State University, Lewis and Clark, and Pacific University. Providing supervision and internship opportunities to students who are beginning their journeys into the field has always been a passion of mine. I have also sat on various collaborative boards at the University level and currently am an instructor at Mt. Hood Community College, in their Mental Health, Social Services and Addiction Counseling Program.
In addition to my clinical supervision practice, I am the Treatment Director for an alternative school in SE Portland, which blends mental health and special education in a unique model that focuses on trauma recovery and healing.
